Yes bring them trekking, if you can bear the site of them peering off cliff tops etc. What we would recommend is sticking to the easier and shorter treks.
Special porters can be hired to nanny children and even carry them if, and when, they get tired before the end of the day.
Bear in mind that if you’re going to take them on a high altitude trek in Nepal, children are less able to recognize the symptoms of altitude sickness. (see Medical).
