This spectacular flight offers you panoramic views of the highest mountains on Earth, flying from Kathmandu alongside Nepal’s Himalayas to give you eye-level views of the snow peaks. Cruising close to these awesome massifs of rock and ice is a mind-boggling sight.

First up is Shishapangma, 8,013m, then, to the right, appears Dorje Lakpa, 6,966m. Further to the right looming over the Kathmandu Valley is Phurbi Chyachu, next is Choba Bhamare, 5,933m, then the sacred, incredibly steep two-summited Gauri Sankar, 7,134m. As we fly east we see the plateau-like Tibetan mountain of Melungtse, 7,023m, the as of yet unclimbed Chugimago, 6,297m, the mammary-like Numbur Mountain, 6,956m, the maternal source in the sky providing milk to the Sherpas of the Solukhumbu. Next is the intensely white Kayrolung, 6,511m and then one of the big boys, the world’s 6th highest mountain the majestic 8,210m Cho Oyu, then Gyachung Kang, 7,952 m, then Pumori, 7,161m, then Nuptse, 7,855m, and there it is… Sagarmatha, Chomolungma or just plain Everest — the world’s highest peak jowl to jowl with you.

The views from here are pretty cool and this flight really should be done.
